Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Abu Kuraib narrated to us, both saying: Abu Asimah narrated to us, saying: Mas'ar narrated to me. And Abu Kuraib said: from Mas'ar, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Ibrahim, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: "Read to me." He said: "Shall I read to you, when it was revealed to you?" He said: "I love to hear it from someone other than myself." He said: So he read to him from the beginning of Surat al-Nisa until He said: "So how will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and bring you as a witness over these?" So he wept. Mas'ar said: So Mu'ayn narrated to me from Ja'far ibn Amr ibn Harith, from his father, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A witness over them as long as I am among them, or as long as I was among them.
Mas'ar was uncertain.
