Is it permissible to feign weeping when reciting the Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. Is it permissible to feign weeping when reciting the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : As for the weeping that comes to the soul without any effort, that is good. The more present a person is in his heart, the quicker the weeping comes to him. Generally, the one who recites while heedless does not weep. As for the feigned weeping that some people manufacture—you find an imam, for example, who manufactures the weeping—yes, this is blameworthy. This is because the fear of Allah is what is the effect of the heart. As for the fabrication that some people do, and perhaps they shout and raise their voice in recitation to an excessive degree, this has no value. Yes.
