The Ruling on Reciting the Qur'an Without Fear or Weeping

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks his final question as well, saying: I recite the Qur'an almost every day, praise be to Allah, but I am always thinking while I recite the Qur'an. Does this diminish the reward? And does not weeping or crying while reciting the Qur'an diminish the reward of the recitation? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
People vary in this regard. The more the recitation is accompanied by humility and weeping out of fear of Allah, the greater the reward. So we advise you to recite even if you do not weep. We advise you to recite, to increase in it, and to reflect upon it, and we give you glad tidings of good. And if you do weep, that is better than good.
The point is that we advise all Muslims to increase in reciting the Qur'an with reflection and understanding, every day, every night, whenever it is easy. We advise reciting the Qur'an according to one's ability, with reflection and understanding, and asking Allah for success, along with acting upon its commands and prohibitions, and praising Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with what is befitting Him, and remembering Him (Exalted and Majestic is He). May Allah guide them all. Yes.

The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
