The reciter: And Yahya ibn Yahya, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Abu Kuraib narrated to us. Yahya said: He informed us, and the other two said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us from al-A'mash from Abu Salih from Abu Hurayrah that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 857b.
The Shaykh : Some scholars cited this hadith as evidence that the Friday bath is not obligatory, but there is no proof in it, because al-A'mash contradicted others in this matter. Therefore, one should adopt what agrees with the majority, which is that the bath is obligatory.
And his saying:Sunan Ibn Majah 1025Sahih (Darussalam) means touching it in a way that is playful, such as playing with the pebbles while the imam is delivering the sermon. The pebbles were mentioned because the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) mosque was paved with small stones and pebbles.
He who performed ablution well, then came to Friday prayer, listened (to the sermon), kept silence all (his sins) between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven with three days extra, and he who touched pebbles caused an interruption.
