Has there come upon man a time from the age? This is because in these two surahs, the beginning of creation, its end, and the end of every person is mentioned, whether it be Paradise or the Fire.

The reader: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, 'Ubadah ibn Sulayman narrated to us from Sufyan from Makhul ibn Rashed from Muslim al-Batin from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn Abbas: أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقرأ في صلاة الفجر يوم الجمعة: آلم تنزيل السجدة و هل أتى على الإنسان حين من الدهر وأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقرأ في صلاة الجمعة سورة الجمعة والمنافقين That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the Fajr prayer on Friday: "Alif, Lam, Meem, The descent of the Prostration" and "Has there come upon man a time from the age?" and that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the Friday prayer the Surah of the Assembly and the Surah of the Hypocrites..

The Shaykh : This is also evidence that one recites in the Fajr of Friday:
Alif, Lam, Meem, The descent
, and the second:
Has there [not] come upon man a period of timeهل أتى على الإنسان حين من الدّهر
[Al-Insan 76:1]
, because in these two surahs the beginning of creation, its end, and the end of every person is mentioned, whether it be Paradise or the Fire. Likewise, in
Has there not come upon man a period of time?
there is encouragement to be among the righteous and the good. And in His saying, the Exalted:
Has there [not] come upon man a period of timeهل أتى على الإنسان حين من الدّهر
[Al-Insan 76:1]
, there is a reminder of the state of man, that he was nothing, and that he came into being after he was not, because the meaning of His saying:
Has there not come upon man a period of time?
is: A time from the age has come upon man when he was not a thing mentioned. Then Allah mentioned the beginning of creation, then He mentioned the recompense of the disbelievers, then He mentioned the recompense of the people of good and righteousness. However, He elaborated in mentioning the reward of the people of good and righteousness, and was concise in mentioning the punishment of the criminals, for two reasons. The first reason is that only one deed was mentioned regarding the disbelievers:
Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.
[Al-Insan 76:3]
, then He said:
Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.
[Al-Insan 76:4]
, and there was no elaboration on his deed. As for the people of gratitude, the righteous, Allah mentioned deeds regarding them:
(7) They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. (8) And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (9) [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.يوفون بالنّذر ويخافون يوماً كان شرّه مستطيراً * ويُطعمون الطّعام على حُبّه مسْكيناً ويتيْماً وأسيراً * إنما نُطعِمكم لوجه الله لا نُريد منكم جزاءً ولا شُكُورا
[Al-Insan 76:7-9]
, and so on. So He mentioned deeds, and it was appropriate to elaborate on their recompense. Also, encouragement should be elaborated upon, so that souls are urged to do what is a cause leading to this great reward. May Allah make us and you among the righteous.
The Shaykh of Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Some ignorant imams think that reciting "Alif, Lam, Meem, The descent of the Prostration" is because it contains a prostration, and they narrate a fabricated hadith regarding that:
It was narrated from Mus’ab bin Sa’d that his father said: “For the Fajr prayer on Fridays, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite ‘Alif-Lam-Mim. The revelation...’ [32:1] and ‘Has there not been over man...’”
Sunan Ibn Majah 822Sahih (Darussalam)
. So you find him reciting a verse that contains a prostration, even if it is very few. And this is an error. Rather, "Alif, Lam, Meem, The descent of the Prostration" is recommended specifically for itself.
