The Book of Friday Prayer, the Two Festivals, the Prayer for Rain, the Eclipse Prayer, and Funerals-03b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to us from Ata' from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, who said:
I witnessed the prayer on the day of the festival with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He began with the prayer before the sermon, without an adhan or iqamah. Then he stood leaning on Bilal and commanded the people to fear Allah, urged them to obey Him, and admonished and reminded the people. Then he proceeded until he came to the women, and he admonished and reminded them, saying: "Give in charity, for most of you are the fuel of the Hellfire." So a woman from the middle of the women, with sunken cheeks, stood up and said: "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Because you are numerous in complaining and ungrateful to your husbands." He said: So they began to give in charity from their jewelry, throwing into Bilal's garment their earrings and rings.

The Shaykh : This hadith is also a corroborating narration for the previous hadith of Ibn 'Abbas, and it is from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him).
