If the deceased has a gold tooth, should it be removed?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If the deceased has gold teeth, or gold bone in his arm or leg, do we say...?

The Shaykh : If the deceased has something of gold or other precious currency, it is removed if it does not involve mutilation. For example, if the tooth is capped in a way that allows it to be removed easily, it is removed, because leaving it in is a waste of wealth and deprives the heirs of their right, since the wealth remaining after death belongs to the heirs. However, if removing it requires mutilation, it is left in place. The scholars said: it is left until it is presumed that the deceased has decomposed, then the heir digs it up and takes it. If the heirs are of sound mind and discretion and they are lenient regarding it, there is no harm.
