Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, saying: Hatim, meaning ibn Isma'il, narrated to us from Musa ibn 'Uqbah from Salim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, and Nafi', the client of 'Abd Allah, and Hamzah ibn 'Abd Allah, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both):
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when his mount stood still for him at the mosque of Dhu al-Hulayfah, would declare his intention for pilgrimage and say: "Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, labbaik la sharika laka labbaik, inn al-hamda wa al-ni'mata laka wa al-mulka la sharika laka."
They said: And 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: This is the talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Nafi' said: 'Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to add to this:
"Labbaik labbaik, wa sa'dayka, wa al-khayru bi yadayka labbaik, wa al-righba' ilayka wa al-'amal." لبيك لبيك ، وسعديك ، والخير بيديك لبيك ، والرغباء إليك والعمل
