The Shaykh : Now, this is also an important issue: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform the Jumu'ah prayer at 'Arafah; rather, he performed the Zuhr prayer. This is because Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) explicitly stated that he performed the Zuhr prayer, and that if it had been Jumu'ah, the khutbah would have been after the adhan. However, the khutbah was before the adhan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed the Jumu'ah prayer during his travels. This is not evidence for those who are ignorant of the ruling that Jumu'ah is performed during travel, nor is it evidence for those who say that one combines Jumu'ah and 'Asr, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at 'Arafah only prayed the Zuhr. It is strange that some ignorant people say that even women on Friday do not pray except two rak'ahs in their homes while they are residents, claiming that it is Jumu'ah, but they have no khutbah because the khutbah is for men. We say: they have no Jumu'ah either, because Jumu'ah is for men. But this is the result of ignorance. We ask Allah for well-being. Yes.
