The reciter: And Hārūn ibn ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Bakr al-Barṣānī informed us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: I heard ‘Atā’ narrating, he said: ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me, he said:
I and Ibn ‘Umar were leaning against the door of ‘Ā’ishah’s chamber, and we were hearing her strike with the siwak as she cleaned her teeth. He said: So I said: O Abū ‘Abd al-Raḥmān, did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ‘Umrah in Rajab? He said: Yes. So I said to ‘Ā’ishah: O my mother, do you not hear what Abū ‘Abd al-Raḥmān is saying? She said: What is he saying? I said: He is saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ‘Umrah in Rajab. She said: May Allah forgive Abū ‘Abd al-Raḥmān. By my life, he did not perform ‘Umrah in Rajab, and he did not perform any ‘Umrah except that he was with him. He said: And Ibn ‘Umar was hearing this, but he said neither “no” nor “yes”; he remained silent.
