The reciter: And Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us from Ziyad ibn Sa'd from 'Abd Allah ibn al-Fadl, who heard Nafi' ibn Jubayr reporting from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A woman who has been previously married has more right over her person than her guardian, and a virgin must be consulted, and her consent is silence. الثيب أحق بنفسها من وليها والبكر تستأمر وإذنها سكوتها
