The questioner : He also asks: What is the preferred supplication for preserving the Noble Qur'an, and what method do you recommend for memorizing the Book of Allah? We offer you our sincere thanks.

The Shaykh : I do not know of a specific supplication for preserving the Noble Qur'an, but the way to memorize it is for a person to be consistent in memorizing it. People have two methods for memorizing it.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : One is to memorize it verse by verse, or two verses at a time, or three at a time, depending on the length or brevity of the verses.
The other is to memorize it page by page. People differ in this; some prefer to memorize it page by page, meaning they read the page and repeat it over and over until they memorize it. Others prefer to memorize a verse, then repeat it until they memorize it, then memorize another verse in the same way, and so on until they are finished.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Also, it is necessary, whether one memorizes by the first method or the second, not to move on to anything until one has mastered it, so as not to build upon a weak foundation.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : One should also review what one has memorized every day, especially in the morning. Once one knows that he has mastered what he has memorized, he should take on a new lesson. Yes.

The questioner : This is a message we received from a citizen, S. D. 'A., from one of the Muslim Arab countries, who submits these questions to the honorable Shaykh.
