The Ruling on Memorizing the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of the fatwa, number ( 18849 )
Q 1: Is memorizing the Noble Qur'an obligatory ?
A 1 : Memorizing the Noble Qur'an is a collective obligation (fard kifayah), and it is not obligatory for every individual of the Muslim community. Its memorization is among the greatest acts of drawing near to Allah, and it carries great merit if the Muslim acts upon what is in it and upholds its limits and rulings.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
