In the chapter on attributes, is it permissible to say, "Believe and you will be guided"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... Believe and you will be guided.

The Shaykh : True faith is the cause of guidance in matters other than what you have already believed in.
And Allah increases those who were guided, in guidance, ويزيد الله الذين اهتدوا هدى
[Maryam 19:76]
. For this reason, you find that most students bring distress upon themselves in the chapter on attributes by going out to dig and investigate. As for the person who accepts them as they are, he says, "I believe in Allah, and the attributes of Allah are broader than our minds. It is not for us to investigate, nor are we required to investigate what lies beyond that." You find him at peace and at ease. If anyone asks him, he says, "This is an innovation; the Companions did not ask about it." He says it with his tongue and believes it in his heart. I believe, and I hope that you are the same, that anything in the chapter on attributes that the Companions did not ask about, asking about it is an innovation. Leave it alone. Believe in what has come in its apparent meaning, but with a faith free from likening Allah to creation and from asking how an attribute is.
