The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: <<

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
[Surat al-Naml: 41].
It is also derived from this: testing another person with what reveals their intelligence and acumen, as He said:
Disguise for her her throne
[Surat al-Naml: 41]. And it was previously mentioned that the intended meaning of its alteration is?
The student: Its modification.

The Shaykh : Its modification, yes. And the reason for that is His saying:
we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
[Surat al-Naml: 41] "Will she find the way, or will she be among those who do not find the way?" How will she know or not know? Because if the throne had remained as it was, she would have recognized it, yes. And if it had been changed completely, she would have had an excuse for not recognizing it. But when its attributes are changed and its essence remains, she will thereby demonstrate her intelligence: does she recognize it or not? The situation here is truly astonishing, not an ordinary, natural situation, because she will find it unlikely that her throne, which is preserved in its place and guarded, would be brought to Sulayman.
Also, according to nature and custom, she will find it very unlikely that the throne would precede her, even though it appears that she came to Sulayman as fast as possible in her travel. In any case! This alteration will indicate her cunning and intellect, and the matter will be explained, if Allah wills, soon.
And His saying:
whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
[Surat al-Naml: 41] is like His saying to the hoopoe:
whether you were truthful or were of the liars.
[Surat al-Naml: 27]. He did not say "or will you not find the way," but rather He said:
or will be of those who is not guided."
[Surat al-Naml: 41].
And in this test, there is also an indication that if she recognizes her throne despite its alteration, how can she not recognize that the one who deserves worship is Allah? Because she and her people prostrate to the sun besides Allah, as has been mentioned. So if she recognizes her throne despite its alteration, there is no doubt that her knowledge that Allah the Exalted is the one who deserves worship is even more certain. This is one aspect of the differences in this story.
or will be of those who is not guided."
[Surat al-Naml: 41] Yes.
