Does the full ritual bath suffice in place of the ablution?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Also, a difficult part of the question: does the full ritual bath suffice in place of the ablution?

The Shaykh : The prescribed full ritual bath, such as the bath for major ritual impurity, suffices in place of the ablution, because Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) says:
And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves وإن كنتم جنبا فاطهروا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
and He did not mention the ablution. Therefore, if a person performs the full ritual bath to remove major ritual impurity, it suffices for him in place of the ablution, and it is permissible for him to pray even if he has not performed the ablution.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : As for a full ritual bath that is not prescribed, such as bathing for cooling off or the like, it does not suffice in place of the ablution because it is not an act of worship. Yes.
