The Book of Faith-02a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Al-Fadl ibn Sahil narrated to us, saying: ‘Ifan ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Hammam narrated to us, saying: “Abu Dawud al-A'ma came to us and kept saying, ‘Al-Bara’ narrated to us,’ and ‘Zayd ibn Arqam narrated to us.’ We mentioned this to Qatadah, and he said, ‘It is a lie; he did not hear from them. He was merely a beggar who used to solicit people during the time of the al-Jarif plague.’”

The Shaykh : This is a known occurrence; that is, it is common among the narrators that they say, “We heard so-and-so, and so-and-so narrated to us,” and they are liars. Yes.
