The reciter: And Hasan ibn 'Ali al-Halwani narrated to me, saying: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, saying: Hammad informed us, saying: "Abu Dawud al-A'ma entered upon Qatadah, and when he stood up, they said: This man claims that he met eighteen of the Badriyyun (Companions of the Battle of Badr). Qatadah said: This man was a questioner before the flood, and he does not engage in any of this, nor does he speak about it. By Allah, al-Hasan did not narrate to us from a Badri Companion face-to-face, and Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib did not narrate to us from a Badri Companion face-to-face, except from Sa'd ibn Malik."
