Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the meaning of "they differ in nature" and "they differ in law"?

The Shaykh : Yes, they differ in nature because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) created a difference between the woman and the man in their creation.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And in intellect, and in insight, and in form, and in speech, and in what is known of the differences between men and women in their creation.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : As for the law, Allah the Exalted has differentiated between men and women in many matters of the religion, and especially regarding the attempt of these to imitate those. As we have mentioned before, the one who does this has been cursed, the man who imitates women and the women who imitate men. For this reason, you will find that the woman is not obligated to perform jihad, nor is she obligated to pray in congregation in the mosques, nor is she obligated to perform the Friday prayer. Likewise, she does not travel alone; rather, she must travel with a mahram (a relative one may not marry). There are many things in which the woman differs from the man according to what befits her creation and the creation of the man.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
