The Book of Faith-07b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to me, saying: Jarir informed us, from al-A'mash, with this chain of narration. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
By Him in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you believe والّذي نفسي بيده لا تدخلون الجنّة حتّى تؤمنوا
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 38:48
just as in the hadith of Abu Mu'awiyah and Waki'.

The Shaykh : This version contains an additional oath from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He swore that we will not enter Paradise until we believe, meaning until we realize faith. And we do not realize faith in the most perfect way until we love one another, for some of us loves some of us. There are many ways to love, and the closest, easiest, and simplest of them is spreading the greeting of peace. Otherwise, a gift brings about love. Likewise, helping a person with one's body brings about love. Good character brings about love. The causes and ways of love are many, but the simplest of them is spreading the greeting of peace. Spreading the greeting of peace means displaying it among people so that it spreads and becomes apparent. This is one of the causes of love, and through love, faith is completed. And through the completion of faith, entry into Paradise is achieved. So in it is an apparent encouragement to spread the greeting of peace. But unfortunately, people today do not greet except those they know, and some people do not even greet those they know. They replace the greeting by saying: "Welcome, you are welcome, may Allah keep you, how are you this morning, O Abu So-and-so," and the like. It is obligatory for students of knowledge to explain to people the importance of the greeting of peace, and that it is one of the greatest causes of love among Muslims, and one of the easiest ways to it. Especially students of knowledge among themselves, for it is obligatory that they be a good example for people, spreading the greeting of peace. If you pass by a person, greet him. And if you have been absent, even if you return soon, greet him. And this is a blessing from Allah that He has prescribed the greeting of peace even when a person is hidden from his brother and returns to him after a short time. For it is prescribed for him to greet in order to increase his reward and wage, because a good deed is multiplied ten times up to seven hundred times, up to many multiples. And in this hadith is the permissibility of swearing an oath without being asked, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) swore without being asked. But the benefit of that is encouraging people to realize faith, and to follow the ways that realize it, which is love among Muslims.
