Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us. And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, my father narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us. And Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to me, he said: Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abdullah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, from Abdullah ibn Amr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There are four characteristics, whoever has them all is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of its characteristics, he has one of the characteristics of hypocrisy, until he gives it up: When he speaks he lies, when he makes a covenant he betrays it, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he disputes he resorts to obscene speech.
Sahih Muslim 58
However, in Sufyan's narration:
and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy وإن كانت فيه خصلةٌ منهنّ كانت فيه خصلةٌ من النّفاق
Sahih al-Bukhari 34
.

The Shaykh : "Khaslah" means: instead of "khalah," and the meaning is the same, but he used this word to preserve the wording.
