The Shaykh :"And he said in *Al-Fatwa al-Hamawiyyah*, page 102, 103, volume 5 of the aforementioned collection: The essence of the matter in this is that the Book and the Sunnah provide complete guidance and light for whoever reflects upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, intends to follow the truth, and turns away from distorting words from their contexts and deviating in His names and His verses" These are the conditions under which complete guidance and light are obtained:
First: Reflection. The meaning of reflection is contemplation of the meaning and pondering over the meaning. As for the one who turns away from reflecting on the meaning, he does not obtain complete light.
Second: Intending to follow the truth. This is the sole point. Some people reflect on the Quran and reflect on the hadith not with the intention of supporting the truth, but with the intention of supporting their own opinion. This may prevent them from reaching the truth. The sign that he wants to support his own opinion is that he tries to twist the necks of the texts to what? To what he says. He distorts them. But reflect on the Quran and the Sunnah while you are free from desire, following the Quran and the Sunnah. Do not make the Quran and the Sunnah follow you, so that you may obtain complete light and guidance. And he said: "And turns away from distorting words from their contexts." Who is afflicted with this? It is the one who wants to support his own opinion. You will find him trying to twist the necks of the texts to what he wants. This person will not be successful. Rather, it is obligatory to submit to what the Book and the Sunnah indicate, even if you had previously said the opposite. Return to the Book and the Sunnah. When you return to the Book and the Sunnah, Allah will open up for you, illuminate your heart, and make it easy for you to return to the truth and abandon stubbornness. How easy the matter is for the one whom Allah guides to it. Otherwise, souls want their word to be the uppermost, and this is contrary to what is desired, which is that the word of Allah be the uppermost. It is like the one who fights with bravery not in the path of Allah. The one who fights so that the word of Allah is the uppermost is the one in the path of Allah. So you must have a good intention if you want to reach the truth and for Allah to open for you from the treasures of His grace. You must have a good intention, and that you do not reflect on the Quran or strive to reach the truth except for the sake of supporting the truth. Rejoice in good if you are like this. Otherwise, you will be abandoned, you will hesitate, and great harms will befall you. Listen to the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.
[Al-An'am 6:110]
And He, Mighty and Majestic, said:
But they denied the truth when it came to them
[Qaf 50:5]
After that
so they are in a confused condition.
[Qaf 50:5]
Meaning, when they first denied it, their matter became confused and they were unable to reach the truth. So you, you must intend to clarify the truth and follow the truth, even if it contradicts your opinion. Do not think that you are defeated if you retract your opinion in accordance with the evidence of the Book and the Sunnah. Rather, you are what? Victorious and honored, because Allah has made you victorious over your own self. When you train your self on this, it becomes easy for you to return to the truth. "The Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) said in *Al-Fatwa al-Hamawiyyah*: 'And turns away from distorting words from their contexts and deviating in the names of Allah and His verses'" We have previously discussed deviation in the names and deviation in the verses. Where was it mentioned? In the *Qawa'id* (Rules) and also in the *Wasitiyyah*. Yes, may Allah bless you. "Let no one suppose" Meaning, let no one think. "That any of this contradicts any other in the least, such as the claim that what is in the Book and the Sunnah regarding Allah being above the Throne contradicts the apparent meaning of His saying:
And He is with you وهو معكم
And the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
When one of you gets up to pray
Sunan Abi Dawud 945Da'if (Al-Albani)
And the like. This is an error"
Meaning, the one who thinks that they contradict is undoubtedly in error, that he has not looked deeply, and that he mostly wants to support his own opinion. Unfortunately, some students now follow the ambiguous verses to strike the Quran against itself or the Sunnah. But if you follow the path of submission and accept every text as it is, you will be safe from this. Beware of this matter. Beware of striking the Book against itself. Submit, and do not bring the ambiguous verses to strike with them the clear verses. "This is because Allah is with us in reality, and He is above the Throne in reality" Is this possible or not? In the case of Allah, it is possible. For Allah, who encompasses everything, it is possible. As for us, one of whom is confined by space, it is not possible to say that he is on the ceiling and on the ground at the same time. It is not possible. But the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, can be with us in reality and above His Throne. And this presence is not a presence in the earth itself. This is not possible, as mentioned previously. Good. "Just as Allah combined them in His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He:
It is He who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.
[Al-Hadid 57:4]
"

In which surah? Al-Hadid. Good. "So He informed that He is above the Throne, knowing everything, and He is with us wherever we are, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said in the hadith of the goats:
By Allah, He is above the Throne, and He knows what you are upon.
