And likewise Ibn al-Qayyim, as in *Mukhtasar al-Sawa'i'iq* by Ibn al-Mawsili, page 410, Imam edition, in the context of his discussion of the ninth example of what is claimed to be metaphorical, he said:

The Shaykh :"And likewise Ibn al-Qayyim, as in *Mukhtasar al-Sawa'i'iq* by Ibn al-Mawsili, page 410, Imam edition, in the context of his discussion of the ninth example of what is claimed to be metaphorical, he said. Ibn al-Qayyim says: 'And Allah has informed us that He is with His creation, while He is rising above the Throne, and He paired these two matters as He the Exalted said [and mentioned a verse from Surat al-Hadid] Then he said: So He informed us that He created the heavens and the earth, and that He rose above the Throne, and that He is with His creation, seeing their deeds from above the Throne, as in the hadith of the she-camels:

By Allah, He is above the Throne, seeing what you are upon

والله فوق العرش يرى ما أنتم عليه

His rising above does not contradict His being with them, and His being with them does not negate His rising above, but both are true.'" This is the statement of Ibn al-Qayyim. And Shaykh al-Islam and Ibn al-Qayyim spoke at length on this because it is a very important matter of creed, and many people believe that Allah is with us on earth.
And indeed, a lesson took place in the Haram, and I spoke on the topic. A man stood up with his prayer mat, and he stood talking and became angry. I said to him: The implication of this statement is that Allah the Exalted is with His creation in filthy places, such as bathrooms. He puffed up, got upset, and ran away from this, because the reality is that what they say, what is it? It necessitates that, and it must, otherwise bring evidence that distinguishes between this and that.
