Explanation of the author's statement: " . . . . And *mu'ayyah* (accompaniment) in language

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "And *mu'ayyah* (accompaniment) in language is absolute comparison and companionship". This is its meaning in language: a thing with a thing means it is comparable to it in one of the matters, accompanying it in one of the matters. "But its implication and necessary consequence differ according to the additions, the context clues, and the circumstances". And this is what the author said, and what Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and his student Ibn al-Qayyim said, and what the language requires. "Sometimes it implies mixing, as one says: I put the water with the milk". When you put the water with the milk, it mixes; does the milk remain on top and the water below, or the water below and the milk on top? No, it mixes. So this is an accompaniment that implied mixing. Yes. "Sometimes it implies a threat and warning, as the disciplinarian says to the wrongdoer: Go, for I am with you. Go, for I am with you". What is the purpose of this? The threat. For example, if a person is held by a highway robber in the desert, and he says: Why do you rob the Muslims? He says: I never robbed anyone. He says: I robbed the road, but I will be with you. What is the state of this man, frightened or reassured? He said "I am with you," meaning "I am with you, I want to rob the road with you?" No, but this is a threat, just as he says in the second phrase: "I will be behind you." Yes, meaning if you do something, I will deal with you. Yes. And is that included in the saying of Allah the Exalted
They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allah, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech يستخفون من الناس ولا يستخفون من الله وهو معهم إذ يبيتون ما لا يرضى من القول
[An-Nisa 4:108]
? It is possible that we can say this: a threat from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that no one should plot anything that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) does not approve of. He said: "Sometimes it implies victory and support, as one says to the one who calls for help: I am with you, I am with you". Correct? Yes, indeed. Even the children now, when they quarrel with each other, one boy comes to the other and says: Come, are you with me or with so-and-so? Yes, or no? Does it mean you go with me to the house and sleep with me in the bed and everything? No, but the intended meaning is victory and support. For this reason, you find each of them making propaganda for himself, to see who has more followers. Yes, indeed.
