Reading from the author's words with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "And from this chapter is the saying of the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon His servant and Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The Shaykh of Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "And from this chapter is the saying of the Exalted".

The Shaykh :"And from this" do you have in this chapter?
The student: From

The Shaykh : from...
The reader: "And from this chapter is the saying of the Exalted:
(36) And [the believers among] those to whom We have given the [previous] Scripture rejoice at what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], but among the [opposing] factions are those who deny part of it. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah and not associate [anything] with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return." (37) And thus We have revealed it as an Arabic legislation. And if you should follow their inclinations after what has come to you of knowledge, you would not have against Allah any ally or any protector.
[Ar-Ra'd 13:36-37]
the pronoun"

The Shaykh : And the pronoun
The student: We have a fa (conjunction)

The Shaykh : So the pronoun in 'their desires'
The reader: Yes "So the pronoun in 'their desires' refers, and Allah knows best, to what was mentioned before, namely the parties who deny part of it. Thus, it includes everyone who denies anything of the Qur'an, whether a Jew, a Christian, or otherwise. And He said:
And if you should follow their inclinations after what has come to you of knowledge ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعدما جاءك من العلم
[Ar-Ra'd 13:37]
And following them in what is specific to their religion and the appendages of their religion is following their desires. Indeed, following their desires is achieved by even less than that. And from this is also the saying of the Exalted:
And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper. ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى حتى تتبع ملتهم قل إن هدى الله هو الهدى ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعد الذي جاءك من العلم ما لك من الله من ولي ولا نصير
[Al-Baqarah 2:120]
.
So look how He said in the report: 'their religion,' and in the prohibition: 'their desires,' because the people are not pleased except by following the religion absolutely, and the warning is against following their desires in little or much. And it is known that following them in some of what they are upon in religion is a type of following them in some of what they desire, or a place where following them in what they desire is likely, as mentioned before. And from this chapter is the saying of the Exalted"
.

The Shaykh : What I have is, except by following the religion. The last thing I have is, except by following the religion. It appears to me that eight words are missing, and after that ten, and after that a page. Okay, what follows 'except by following the religion'... all the verses
The student: Itself

The Shaykh : Itself.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Okay, now let's proceed with.
The student: No, no, it came, it came.

The Shaykh : So look how He said in the report.
The reader: "So look how He said in the report: 'their religion,' and in the prohibition: 'their desires,' because the people are not pleased except by following the religion absolutely, and the warning is against following their desires in little or much. And it is known that following them in some of what they are upon in religion is a type of following them in some of what they desire, or a place where following them in what they desire is likely, as mentioned before. And from this chapter".

The Shaykh : It appears we have passed this. What is this? No, are you reading from the manuscript now?
The reader: No, no, the printed one.

The Shaykh : Okay, leave it there. The paragraph has appeared now. Yes.
The reader: "And from this chapter is the saying of the Exalted:
And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah. So if you were to follow their
