The reader: " So the exaggeration in it: such as throwing large stones, and the like. Based on the fact that it is more emphatic than the small pebbles.
Then he explained that: that what destroyed those before us was nothing but exaggeration in religion, as you see it in the Christians " .
The Shaykh : Among our common people in the issue of stoning the pillars, they exaggerate to a degree greater than using large pebbles; some throw shoes and sticks and the like at them, because they believe it is Satan. You will find one of them with red, swollen eyes and bulging neck veins, cursing and swearing, saying, "You are the one who separated me from my wife. Where is he from his wife? You are the one who did it. You are the one who commanded me to do this indecency." And I saw a man once with his wife before the bridge was built over the pillars; he was sitting on the pool, and the people were throwing at the pool, and the pebbles were hitting him and his wife, but he did not move. He had a large stick with which he struck the pebbles. Yes, and it seems, and Allah knows best, that he was emulating the saying:
" Are you not but a finger that bled *** And what you met in the path of Allah "
His back was wounded by the pebbles, but he remained steadfast, meaning we stayed, we stoned the pillars, and we left, and he was in his state, striking with the stick and the large stick, and silent to the pebbles. All of this is from ignorance. It is obligatory for students of knowledge in such matters to clarify to people that the greatest thing in these pillars is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned: establishing the remembrance of Allah, emulating the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the completion of servitude and humility. Because the fact that a person comes with pebbles and throws them in this direction, and he does not understand its meaning except as mere worship, there is no doubt that this is among the greatest submission and surrender to the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Yes.
