The benefits of the hadith: (Where am I tomorrow?) He means the day of 'A'ishah ...

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this hadith, there are the following benefits:
First: that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was a human being, subject to what befalls humanity. Yes, his face?
He fell ill, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Verily I am a human being like you, I forget just as you forget. إنما أنا بشر مثلكم أنسى كما تنسون
Sahih Muslim 572j
.
He would be afflicted with illness, and he would need sleep, need food, need warmth, and need the clothing of armor to protect himself from arrows. So, in terms of human nature, he was like other human beings.
Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed قل إنما أنا بشر مثلكم يوحى إليّ
[Al-Kahf 18:110]
: This is what distinguishes the revelation. And in it is a refutation of what is narrated about him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he had no shadow. They say: The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) walks in the daytime in the sun and does not have a shadow. Why?
Because he is light. And based on that, at night he would be like a candle walking in the market. By the life of Allah, he is indeed a candle, but not a candle of physical, tangible light; rather, he is a candle of spiritual light, by which people find happiness in this world and the Hereafter.
So this hadith that is narrated is a weak hadith, indeed a false one, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was like other human beings. His body is dense, blocking light, and his body is not a substance of light, but his body is like all other bodies.
And among the benefits of this hadith: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) died a real death, by her saying:
the illness from which he died مرضه الذي مات فيه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 362Sahih (Darussalam)
And this is the text of the Qur'an:
Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die. إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون
[Az-Zumar 39:30]
,
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? وما جعلنا لبشر من قبلك الخلد أفإن مت فهم الخالدون
[Al-Anbya 21:34]
,
Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels وما محمد إلا رسول قد خلت من قبله الرسل أفإن مات أو قتل انقلبتم على أعقابكم
[Ali 'Imran 3:144]
, and in this is the invalidation of what some ignorant people claim who make mawlid celebrations in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, then they gather for prescribed and non-prescribed dhikr, then they stand up as if one man, saying: "And upon you be peace, welcome to the Prophetic Presence," and they claim that he is present. And this is undoubtedly from Shaytan. If they see anything, it is Shaytan.
And someone might say: How can Shaytan take the form of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?
We say: He made it appear to them that it was the Prophet, but it was not in the form of the Prophet. Shaytan cannot take the form of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), neither in waking nor in sleep, but he makes it appear to them thus.
So they think the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has entered, and they stand up and welcome him. Yes, this makes clear the misguidance of these people, their misguidance in religion and their foolishness in reason.
Now, if someone says: How do you say that he is dead, while the martyrs are alive with their Lord, being provided for, and the prophets are in a higher station than the martyrs, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is at the peak of the station regarding the prophets?
So the answer is that we say: Life is of two kinds: worldly, material life. This was lost by the death of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and others who died.
And barzakh life, which is not known to us, and which differs from worldly life without doubt. It is unknown, but we know that it differs from it. In it, a person does not need food, drink, sleep, or anything else that the living in this world need. If the Messenger had been alive with worldly life, the Companions—may Allah protect us from that—would have been the most undutiful people to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Why?
Because they buried him, they buried him while he was alive. Rather, he (peace and blessings be upon him) died a real death, his soul left his body. Yes, then after his burial, barzakh life, whose nature is not known, returns to him, but we know that it differs from worldly life. Is that clear, everyone?
And by this, we get rid of the saying of those who say: He is alive and being provided for. Glory be to Allah the Great. Did you give him a pill? Did you give him ground nuts? What? How is he alive and being provided for?
He is alive and being provided for, but his provision is not the material provision that is in this world:
they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, أحياء عند ربهم يرزقون
[Ali 'Imran 3:169]
Pay attention to the "indeed," this differs from all life in this world.
