Benefits of the Hadith of 'Aishah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : However, among the benefits of this hadith is that a menstruating woman who arrives in Makkah while menstruating does not perform tawaf or sa'y, because she (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I did not perform tawaf of the House, nor between al-Safa and al-Marwah." It contains evidence for what the jurists (may Allah have mercy on them) mentioned, that sa'y is not valid except after the tawaf of the pilgrimage; otherwise, she would have performed sa'y, because sa'y is permissible for a menstruating woman. It also contains evidence for the ruling that the one performing qiran does not exit the state of ihram except on the Day of Sacrifice, exiting from both 'Umrah and Hajj. It also contains evidence for the stronger opinion that the one performing tamattu' is not satisfied with a single sa'y, but rather he must perform two tawafs and two sa'ys: a tawaf and sa'y for 'Umrah, and a tawaf and sa'y for Hajj. This is based on her statement (may Allah be pleased with her): "So those who had entered the state of ihram for 'Umrah performed tawaf of the House and between al-Safa and al-Marwah, then they exited the state of ihram. Then they performed a single tawaf after they returned from Mina. As for those who combined 'Umrah and Hajj, they only performed a single tawaf". By this, she means sa'y, because those who combined 'Umrah and Hajj performed two tawafs: the tawaf of arrival and the tawaf of ifadah. However, the tawaf referred to here means between al-Safa and al-Marwah.
