The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "From Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:Bulugh al-Maram 67 Abu Dawud narrated it, and al-Daraqutni graded it as authentic, and its original source is in Muslim":
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 78Sahih (Darussalam): Among the special characteristics of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is that a man can be one of his Companions even if he did not constantly stay with him; in fact, if he met him just once while believing in him, he is one of his Companions. As for others, one is not considered a Companion unless there is constant companionship. Therefore, the Companions of the Prophet are meant to be:
Those who met him while believing in him and died upon that, whether their belief in him was in reality or by legal presumption.
In reality, it means being an adult of sound mind or a discerning child who believes in the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). By legal presumption, it means a child who does not have reason, such as Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both), for he was born during the Farewell Pilgrimage and is a Companion, but he met him by legal presumption.
And his saying: means the last 'Isha' prayer.
Know that the Bedouins call 'Isha' al-'Atamah, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that and said: This hadith or its meaning.
The important point is that it should not be called al-'Atamah, but rather 'Isha', as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) named it.
Meaning: They descend from what? From drowsiness.

The Companions of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) in his lifetime used to wait for the ‘Isha (night) prayer, so much so that their heads were lowered down (by dozing). They would then pray without performing ablution.
