Is it permissible to attribute to Allah the Exalted that which one feels shy about?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah bless you. We said that the attribute of modesty (istihya') is permissible to ascribe to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. It is permissible to describe Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, with this attribute.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah bless you. There are actions, meaning, that one feels shy about.

The Shaykh : No, those that one feels shy about are not permissible to attribute to Allah. However, out of reverence for Allah, we do not say them. Otherwise, there is no doubt that they are included among the things Allah does. But if we were to address a human being with such words, it would be considered shameful; so it is the same in the case of the Creator.
