The Shaykh : Among the benefits of this hadith: If we adopt the first meaning, what is it? It is the obligation to wait for the Fajr prayer until we are certain that the dawn has arrived. And if we adopt the second, what is it? It is the prescription of lengthening the recitation. And among its benefits: that rewards differ in their greatness and smallness, as indicated by His saying: And "greater" is a name of favor that indicates the existence of one who bestows favor and one upon whom it is bestowed. And among the benefits of this hadith: the grace of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) upon His servants, in that He named the reward "wages." He named the reward "wages" even though He (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the One who enables the righteous deed, and yet He calls the reward for the righteous deed "wages," meaning: in the position of the wage that a worker is entitled to from the one who hired him. And similar to that is His saying (the Exalted): [Ar-Rahman 55:60] meaning: Is the recompense for the righteous deed in which its doer excelled, other than excellence in the reward? It is said: O Allah, to You is praise. You are the first to do good, and then You do good again. Because the One who enabled you to do good the first time is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and yet He rewarded you for the good that was His favor upon you.
