Continuation of the explanation of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He says:
There is no prayer after the morning prayer
Sahih al-Bukhari 586
We say: "La" is a negation of the genus, and "salah" means, based on this assumption, both obligatory and voluntary prayer, and it includes prayer with bowing and prostration as well as what does not have bowing and prostration, such as the funeral prayer. And his saying:
after the Fajr بعد الصبح
It is possible that the meaning is after the Fajr prayer, and it is possible that the meaning is after what? After the sun rises. But the narration of Muslim clarifies that the meaning is after the Fajr prayer. And therefore he said:
no prayer is valid after the dawn prayer
Sahih Muslim 827
Likewise, it also came in other hadiths besides the hadith of Abu Sa'id explicitly stating that the meaning is prayer, where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, or rather the narrator said:
He prohibited prayer after two prayers: the Fajr prayer and the 'Asr prayer
And his saying:
until the sun rises
The meaning is until it rises completely, or until its first or second horn rises. But with that, as will come later, if Allah wills, the hadith of 'Uqbah that the prohibition extends until the sun rises the height of a spear.
and there is no prayer after the `Asr prayer till the sun sets.
Sahih al-Bukhari 586
after the 'Asr بعد العصر
That is: after the 'Asr prayer.
until the sun sets
That is: its upper horn sets, meaning it sets completely. Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. So if someone asks: What is the wisdom in that?
We say: The wisdom in this was indicated by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)
that the sun rises between the two horns of Satan, and when the polytheists see it, they prostrate to it
And likewise at sunset, it sets between the two horns of Satan, and perhaps they prostrate to it in farewell. So they prostrate to it in greeting at its rising and in farewell at its setting. So we were prohibited from praying in these two times so that it not be a means to imitating them.
