Explanation of the Book of Prayer-03

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And from Abu Mahdhura (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him the adhan, and he mentioned the tarji' in it. Muslim narrated it, but he mentioned the takbir at the beginning only twice, and the five [books] narrated it and mentioned it what? Four times." The tarji' is that one says: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah" in a low voice, then he says it in a loud voice. This is the tarji'.
And Abu Mahdhura (may Allah be pleased with him) was a mu'adhdhin in Makkah. He taught him the adhan and mentioned the tarji' in it, but he mentioned the takbir at the beginning only twice. This is the narration of Muslim, but the others, the five [books], mentioned it four times. Do we take the narration of the five because they have an addition of knowledge, or do we take the narration of Muslim? We say: As long as the addition is authentic, we take it. And it also matches what? The hadith of Abdullah ibn Zayd ibn 'Abd Rabb. This makes it the stronger position. And on this basis, what Muslim narrated—that he taught him the adhan and the takbir at the beginning was twice—is understood to mean that one of the narrators, for example, forgot and mentioned it twice. How many sentences is the adhan if it includes the tarji'? Nineteen. Yes, because he will mention "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah" four times, and "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah" likewise four times, making it nineteen sentences.
