The Shaykh : In this hadith, there are benefits, among which is: that it is obligatory for a person to return to the truth if he errs in any matter and the truth becomes clear to him, he must return to it. Among its benefits also: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was... Among its benefits: that it is permissible for a person to describe himself with a description that indicates foolishness, as he said: And generally, slaves have foolishness and lack of knowledge and assessment of matters. And among the benefits of this hadith: that if a person calls the adhan before the time, it is obligatory for him to inform the people that he called the adhan before the time, so that they are not deceived into abstaining from eating and drinking if they are fasting, or into advancing the prayer if they intend to pray. This is if the hadith is authentic. If the hadith is not authentic, then we return to the general principles, which is that if a person errs, it is obligatory for him to correct the error by any means, whether with this wording or otherwise, so that people are not deceived by it. Because if we said: "Be patient, and when the time enters, call the adhan," and then he did so, the people would pray twice. Perhaps they would become negligent and not pray, saying: "The sin is on him who called the adhan and deceived us; the sin is on him."
