The questioner : He says: It happened that I saw people, or a person, slaughter chickens slightly at the neck until the blood appears, then release them to run until they die. Is this lawful or forbidden, and is it permissible to eat them?

The Shaykh : Yes, if one slaughters the hen until the blood flows and then releases it, it becomes lawful, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
(Use) whatever causes the blood to flow, mention the Name of Allah and eat ما أنهر الدم وذكِر اسم الله عليه فكل
Sunan Ibn Majah 3178Sahih (Darussalam)
However, in reality, it is very difficult to know what is cut when slaughtering a hen, unless the entire neck is cut, in which case it becomes clear that it has been slaughtered. If one cuts off its head and leaves it, there is no harm in this, and it is lawful.

The questioner : We received a message from a citizen, M.M.S., from al-Hayathim in al-Kharj. In reality, it concerns a specific individual, and it is requested that it be written to the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments, as what you mentioned is not within the program's jurisdiction. Thank you, citizen M.M.S.
