What is the difference between Islam and faith?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: ....

The Shaykh : When Islam and faith are mentioned individually, each encompasses the other. Islam, when mentioned alone, includes faith, and faith, when mentioned alone, also includes Islam. When they are mentioned together, faith is the inner aspect and Islam is the outer aspect.
The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. قالت الأعراب آمَنَّا قل لم تؤمنوا ولكن قولوا أسْلَمْنَا ولَمَّا يدْخُلِ الإيمان في قلوبكم
