Say, "Sufficient is Allah between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth قل كفى بالله بيني وبينكم شهيدًا -بصدقي- يعلم ما في السماوات والأرض
[Al-'Ankabut 29:52]
Sufficient is Allah.كفي بالله
The grammarians say that the *ba* here is superfluous and that the meaning is “Allah is sufficient,” and
As a witness.شهيدًا
it was said that it is a *hal* (state) from the noble name, and it was said: that it is a *tamyiz* (specification) like their saying: “For Allah is His *dar* (glory) as a *Farsi* (Persian),” because
As a witness.شهيدا
here is not a verbal noun nor a static name, but rather it is derived, so it is suitable to be a *hal* and suitable to be a *tamyiz*, meaning: “Sufficient is the testimony of Allah between me and you.” And His saying:
Sufficient as a witness between me and you is Allahكفى بالله شهيدا بيني وبينكم
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3803Da'if (Darussalam)
He included in the testimony here the meaning of judgment; otherwise, a witness who is a witness between so-and-so and so-and-so is a witness for so-and-so against so-and-so, but He included in the testimony here the meaning of judgment, and it is so. For the testimony of Allah for His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth is a judgment for him with the truth. And what is the aspect of that being both testimony and judgment? Because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) enabling His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to fight these disbelievers and to make their blood and wealth lawful, and His enabling him in the earth by opening up their lands—what does this indicate? That He judged for him against them, or for them against him?
For him against them.

The Shaykh : For him against them. And it is clear that the enabling of Allah for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), while He sees him killing His servants and making their blood and wealth lawful, and He (Glorified and Exalted is He) enabling him and opening up the earth for him, land after land, is undoubtedly the greatest evidence of the testimony of Allah for him with the truth. Yes, for this reason He said in Surat al-An'am:
Say, "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, "Allah is witness between me and you. قل أيُّ شيءٍ أكبرُ شهادَة قل الله شهِيدٌ بينِي وبينَكم
[Al-An'am 6:19]
And this is the greatest of testimony, testimony for Allah. And Allah has testified for His Prophet by action and enabling that he is the truth. He said:
He knows what. يعلم ما
Yes.
