The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And fear Allah and conceal in your soul what Allah will make apparent, and you fear the people, while Allah is more worthy that you fear Him”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And among the benefits of this noble verse is the establishment of the message of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and that it is a message of truth, due to His saying:
and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him. وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ وَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَاهُ
[Al-Ahzab 33:37]
If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had been a liar—and may he be far removed from that—he would have concealed such matters, because they are difficult for him to handle.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) may do the opposite of what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was doing, meaning that the ijtihad (independent legal reasoning) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) may be contrary to what Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) intends, due to His saying:
while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ
[Al-Ahzab 33:37]
The Messenger concealed this matter in his soul, but Allah the Exalted contradicted him in that by making it apparent.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that the fear of people may occur in the prophets, but they do not acknowledge it, due to His saying:
And you fear the people وتخشى
الناس
.
And among them is the obligation of prioritizing the fear of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) over the fear of everyone, due to His saying the Exalted:
And Allah is more worthy that you fear Him والله أحق أن تخشاه
It is obligatory for a person not to fear the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah, and to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in clarifying the truth and acting upon it. He should not say, “People are mocking me,” or “People are ridiculing me,” or “People are making fun of me.” Let it be so, for this ridicule and mockery only increase his elevation in the sight of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
