The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And We did not give them any books to study, nor did We send to them before you any warner.”
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Saba 34:44] We will explain this on the basis that the meaning is that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) did not give the Quraysh, or indeed the Arabs as a whole, any books, nor did He send to them a messenger. We will derive the benefits based on this meaning, so we say:
One of the benefits of this noble verse is: making clear the great favor of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) upon the Arabs when He sent to them Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The point is that they were an ignorant nation; they had no books to study, and no warner came to them to inform and teach them. They were the most in need of a messenger. When the need is intense and then what removes that need arrives, this is a greater favor. Therefore, the verse indicates the great favor of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) upon the Arabs in that He sent among them this noble messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
Another benefit of this noble verse is: that the Arabs were ignorant, among the most ignorant of people, before the mission of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Where is this taken from?[Saba 34:44] For this reason, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Al Imran: 164].
One of the benefits of this noble verse is: that there was no one among the Arabs except Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is so. What some historians mentioned regarding the finding of messengers in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, such as Khalid ibn Sinan, has no basis and is not a sound statement. This is because Allah says: [Al Ma'idah: 19]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that there is no messenger between him and 'Isa (Jesus). Therefore, no messenger was sent among them, meaning among the Arabs, except Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
One of the benefits of this noble verse is: that the reality of the message is warning, as well as good news. The warning is for those who disobey, regarding punishment, and the good news is for those who comply, regarding reward and recompense. Yes.
Also, in the second meaning, it is derived from the verse: that those who lied about the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) have no basis to rely on in their lying about him. This is because they did not read books that indicate their lying, and no messenger was sent to them whose message would imply that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is a liar. This is based on the second meaning.
And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner.
وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنْ كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِنْ نَذِيرٍOne of the benefits of this noble verse is: making clear the great favor of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) upon the Arabs when He sent to them Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). One of the benefits of this noble verse is: that there was no one among the Arabs except Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is so.
