Is there any punishment before the Day of Resurrection other than the punishment of the grave?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the hadith of the Night Journey and the Ascension, which was narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him), it is reported that he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw people being punished.
The question is: Is there any punishment before the Day of Resurrection other than the punishment of the grave? Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This is interpreted to mean that these people were shown to him as being punished because of their evil and reprehensible deeds. It is possible that this punishment is for them in this world, and it is possible that it is an example of the punishment they will receive on the Day of Resurrection. For he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw in his sleep two angels who took him by the hand and showed him a group of the punished: one who consumes riba (usury or interest), the fornicators and adulteresses, the one who sleeps through the prayer until the sun rises and does not pray, and the one who memorizes the Qur'an but does not act upon it. So it is possible that it refers to two matters:
One is that this punishment occurs for them in the grave, in their souls, in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection), and that it is a punishment hastened for them.
And it is possible that the intended meaning is that this is the type of punishment that will occur for them on the Day of Resurrection, and that this is among the things by which they will be punished in the Fire on the Day of Resurrection—may Allah grant us safety and well-being.
In any case, it is a great warning that serves to make one cautious of these evil deeds, whether that is in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection) or in the Hereafter. And the most apparent and closest view—may Allah know best—is that it is in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection)—may Allah grant us safety.
