The student: Was the fire of Ibrahim cool by its nature, or was it cool specifically for him?

The Shaykh : Allah knows best. However, the apparent meaning of the verse is that it was for Ibrahim only.
The student: By its nature?

The Shaykh : By its nature; that is the apparent meaning of the verse.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : ...Allah knows best, but the apparent meaning of the verse is that it was cool and safe for this man only.
The student: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan.
So they plotted against him, but We made them the lowest. And he said: "Indeed, I am going to my Lord; He will guide me." "My Lord, grant me a righteous [child]." So We gave him good news of a boy of patience. And when he reached with him the age of [assisting him in] effort, he said: "O my boy, indeed I see in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said: "O my father, do what you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the patient." And when they had both surrendered and he had put him down upon his forehead, We called to him, "O Ibrahim, You have fulfilled the vision. Thus do We reward the doers of good. Indeed, this was a clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice. And We left for him [praise] among those who would come after. Peace upon Ibrahim. Thus do We reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was among My believing servants."
