Mentioning some of the trials that befell the Prophet of Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Regarding Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him), what was the greatest trial he faced in terms of human emotion?
The student: ... Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) commanded him to slaughter his son

The Shaykh : Exactly, that Allah commanded him to slaughter his son
he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you قال يا بني إنّي أرى في المنام أنّي أذبحك
[As-Saffat 37:102]
and the visions of the prophets are revelation, and for this reason his son said to him
O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." يا أبت افعل ما تؤمر ستجدني إن شاء الله من الصابرين
[As-Saffat 37:102]
So he resolved to slaughter his son, and he and his son submitted
(103) And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, (104) We called to him, "O Abraham, فلمّا أسلما وتلّه للجبين وناديناه أن يا إبراهيم
[As-Saffat 37:103-104]
"he laid him on his forehead" تلّه للجبين
meaning he laid him on his forehead, that is, on his face, and did not lay him on his side or on his back, but on his face. Why? So that he would not be distressed when he was slaughtered and the knife was passed over his neck, because the matter is great and serious. But when this obedience occurred, Allah the Exalted said:
We called to him, "O Abraham, وناديناه أن يا إبراهيم
[As-Saffat 37:104]
And here I ask the scholars of Arabic present with me.
