﴿ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴾

Continuation of the benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And if you ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’ They will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intends harm for me, can they remove it? Or if He intends mercy for me, can they retain it?’ Say, ‘Sufficient for me is Allah; upon Him the trusting place their trust.’”

Among the benefits of this noble verse is that what is worshipped besides Allah does not benefit its worshipper by bringing benefit or repelling harm, as He said:
Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy? أرأيتم ما تدعون من دون الله إن أرادني الله بضر هل هن كاشفات ضره أو أرادني برحمة هل هن ممسكات رحمته

And among the benefits of the noble verse is the affirmation of the will of Allah in His saying:
If He intends إن أرادني
Or if He intends أو أرادني
The will of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is divided into two categories: legislative will and cosmic, decreed will; legislative will and cosmic, decreed will.
I hope that none of the brothers will write annotations directly in the tafsir book itself, because annotating the book ruins the book, and the annotations may end up being more than the tafsir itself, especially when we want to discuss the division of the will and similar matters. However, if we are explaining a word and writing it in the margin, that is less harmful. But the things that involve detailed explanation ruin your books; you will never read them again, and perhaps over time you will not even benefit from them. So we hope that whoever wants to write such long text writes it outside the book; that is better.
Now, regarding the will, we said it is cosmic and legislative. The cosmic is that which means the will (mashi'ah), and the legislative is that which means love. So if “wills” means “wishes,” it is cosmic will, and if “wills” means “loves,” it is legislative will.
