Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
Among the benefits of this noble verse is that no religion is acceptable to Allah except Islam, based on His saying:
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
meaning that the religion that is considered valid and accepted is Islam. Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him
[Ali 'Imran 3:85]
. Among the benefits of the noble verse is that any religion that contradicts Islam in any time is not acceptable or pleasing to Allah. It is known, as mentioned previously, that Islam after the sending of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is what the Messenger brought. Therefore, the religion of Judaism and the religion of Christianity are invalid religions, invalid and not acceptable to Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that there is no Jew or Christian from this Ummah, meaning the Ummah of the call, who hears about the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and then does not follow what he brought, except that he will be from the people of the Fire, except that he will be from the people of the Fire or from the companions of the Fire. Among the benefits of the noble verse is that whoever claims that the religion of Judaism or the religion of Christianity or any other religion is acceptable to Allah now is a disbeliever. Why? Because he is denying the Qur'an
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
. Among its benefits is the clarification of the misguidance of those people who, when they speak about religions, pair the religion of Islam with the Jews and Christians and say that these are the heavenly religions, to the extent that the ignorant person does not think that the difference between the three religions is like the difference between the schools of jurisprudence in the Muslim community. This is a great misguidance and a form of appeasement and compromise with the Jews and Christians. Rather, we say that the heavenly religions, Judaism and Christianity, were religions acceptable to Allah, but now Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has abrogated them, and the acceptable heavenly religion that no other religion can share with it is what Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) brought. Among the benefits of the noble verse is that the difference between the Jews and Christians was with knowledge, after knowledge had come to them, they differed. Therefore, He said:
And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
. Among the benefits of the noble verse is that the difference of these people was not for the sake of truth, but for the sake of tyranny and aggression of some of them against others, until some of them misguide others, and even declare some of them disbelievers. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the indication of a warning against what these disbelievers who were given the Scripture fell into. The indication of this is His saying:
And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
And tyranny is known to be warned against and not desired. Therefore, there is a warning in this verse against this difference that occurred among the People of the Book. Among its benefits is the indication that it is obligatory for a person, if someone contradicts him, not to belittle him and not to intend by presenting evidence supporting his statement to tyrannize over him and belittle him. Rather, what should he intend? Rather, he should intend to make the truth clear so that he benefits and benefits others. As for bringing evidence in order to be superior to his brother and for his statement to be the highest, this is a great error. Rather, it is obligatory for a person to support the truth, even if others contradict him, and to bring the evidence that supports the truth, intending thereby what? Making the truth clear and supporting it, not to dominate and tyrannize over others. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the warning against disbelief in the verses of Allah, based on His saying:
And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account.
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
. Among its benefits is that if there is a warning against disbelief in the verses of Allah, then the opposite of that is faith in the verses of Allah, because disparaging a thing is praising its opposite. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the clarification of the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in that He is swift in reckoning. Among the benefits of the verse is that a person must be reckoned for his deeds
Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" أفحسبتم أنما خلقناكم عبثا وأنكم إلينا لا ترجعون
[Al-Mu'minun 23:115]
This reckoning is undoubtedly a misguidance that contradicts what wisdom requires. What is the benefit of creating this great creation, sending down books upon them, sending messengers to them, commanding and forbidding, and then in the end it all turns to dust? What is the benefit? There is no benefit. Therefore, there must be a reckoning. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the clarification that it is recommended for the person of intellect to reckon himself before he is reckoned, as the Commander of the Faithful, 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him), said:
Reckon yourselves before you are reckoned
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:232
So it is better for a person to reckon himself to fix what may have become corrupt than to be silent and neglect it and not reckon himself, because sins accumulate upon him and then he is destroyed. Can the refutation of the Jabriyyah be derived from it? Yes. The indication of this is that Allah attributed those actions to their doer
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account.
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
And whoever disbelieves in Allah
[An-Nisa 4:136]
out of envy, among themselves بغيا بينهم
and the like. All of this indicates that a person has voluntary will and action, contrary to the Jabriyyah who said that the actions of the servants are compelled upon the person.
