A discussion regarding the verse: “So how will it be when We gather them on a Day of which there is no doubt, and every soul is given what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : What is the meaning of the interrogative in His saying:
So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt فكيف إذا جمعناهم ليوم لاريب فيه
[Ali 'Imran 3:25]
?
The student: The magnification of this Day.

The Shaykh : How will this Day be when We gather them, or what will be their state on this Day when they are gathered? This includes the magnification of this Day and the warning of these people. Yes, it is for the magnification of that Day and the warning of these people.

The Shaykh : What is the meaning of this Day?
The student: The Day of Resurrection,

The Shaykh : Allah said:
of which there is no doubt لاريب فيه
? That is, there is no doubt in it. Why is there no doubt in it, even though it is a future matter? Because the One who reports it is the Truth, for it is Allah who reported it. The Book, the Sunnah, and reason indicate it, for each of the Book, the Sunnah, and reason points to this Day and that people will be resurrected.
We want a proof from the Qur'an for the establishment of this Day, other than the verse with us. His saying:
Say, "Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection قل إن الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيمة
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
. Good, is this possible? Is there a verse indicating that people will be gathered on that Day so that it fits the meaning?
Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did زعم الذين كفروا أن لن يبعثوا قل بلى وربي لتبعثن ثم لتنبؤن بما عملتم
[At-Taghabun 64:7]
. Yes, is there no proof for the gathering itself? His saying:
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation يوم يجمعكم ليوم الجمع ذلك يوم التغابن
[At-Taghabun 64:9]
. Fine, correct, yes. And in Surat Hud:
That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed. ذلك يوم مجموع له الناس وذلك يوم مشهود
[Hud 11:103]
. Good.

The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted and Majestic says:
And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged. ووفيت كل نفس ما كسبت وهم لا يظلمون
[Ali 'Imran 3:25]
And every soul is givenو وفيت كل نفس
. What does it mean?
The student: Yes, it means that every soul is given its right.

The Shaykh : In full. Well done.

The Shaykh : The phrase:
and they will not be treated unjustly. وهم لا يظلمون
[Al-Baqarah 2:281]
. What is its grammatical position?
The student: A predicate (khabar).

The Shaykh : No,
The student: A state (hal),

The Shaykh : A state (hal) from where?
The student: From
Every soul كل نفس
?

The Shaykh : From all of the world? From the verb and the doer? We do not have a doer; we have a substitute for the doer, because “wafa” is a past tense verb built on the passive. So, the substitute for the doer is his saying:
Every soulكل نفس
. Good.
