On the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age وابتلوا اليتامى حتى إذا بلغوا النكاح ...
[An-Nisa 4:6]
And we have defined an orphan as one who has not reached maturity, and if he reaches maturity, he is no longer an orphan?

The questioner : No, this is a condition for what follows:
Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them فإن آنستم رشدا فادفعوا إليهم أموالهم
[An-Nisa 4:6]
This applies to what comes after it. That is, we do not say, for example, “As soon as the state of orphanhood ends, we give him the money.” No.
