Is the bite of a predator in hunting or in livestock considered a lawful slaughter?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the bite of a predator in hunting or in livestock considered a lawful slaughter?

The Shaykh : No, and for this reason the scholars said that if a predator severs the windpipe or the windpipe along with the gullet, according to one opinion, or severs its entrails—its entrails meaning its intestines and stomach—then it is in the category of carrion, and slaughtering it does not benefit it. However, there is a point to consider, because the verse is general:
and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death] وما أكل السبع إلا ما ذكيتم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
