The benefits derived from the noble verse.

The verse contains numerous benefits, among which is the eagerness of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) for knowledge, as indicated by His saying: . From this, we know that whatever the Companions did not ask about, from among the matters of the unseen that people ask about in our time, asking about it is a religious innovation (bid'ah), because we know that if there had been any good in knowing it, Allah would have inspired the Companions to ask about it so that the matter would become clear. Another benefit of this noble verse is that making things lawful or forbidden does not belong to the servants, but to the servants of Allah. Indeed, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) warned us against making things lawful or forbidden based on our desires, saying: [An-Nahl 16:116]. Another benefit of this noble verse is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) does not have the authority to make things lawful or forbidden on his own. The reason, my brother, is that the Messenger did not answer, but rather Allah the Exalted answered them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explicitly stated this, where he said to the Companions: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 3:186 So the Companions went around saying, “It is forbidden, it is forbidden.” When this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), he said to them: Sahih Muslim 565.
