The benefits derived from the saying of Allah the Exalted: << . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . >

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
Then indeed, it is forbidden to them
[Al-Ma'idah 5:26]
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the response to supplication, based on His saying:
[Allah] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden قال فإنها محرمة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:26]
Allah’s response to supplication entails several attributes, including the response itself, knowledge, and power. All of these are established by the response, because if He had not heard, He would not have responded; if He had not known what the supplicant wanted, He would not have responded; and if He had not been able to, He would not have responded either. Another benefit is that prohibition (tahrim) is applied to the decree of prevention (qadri), based on His saying:
[Allah] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years قال فإنها محرمة عليهم أربعين سنة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:26]
Because we know that Allah did not intend to prohibit their entry into it by religious law (shar'i), but rather by divine decree (qadri). And it is so, meaning that prohibition can be cosmic (kawni) or it can be religious (shar'i). We gave examples of this during our discussion of the interpretation of the verse. An example of cosmic, decree-based prohibition is the saying of the Exalted regarding Moses:
And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before
[Al-Qasas 28:12]
Is this a religious or a decree-based prohibition? It is decree-based. And an example of religious prohibition is the saying of the Exalted:
Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
and His saying:
And to those who are Jews We prohibited every animal of uncloven hoof
[Al-An'am 6:146]
. Another benefit of this noble verse is guiding the person not to grieve over the corrupt, because if he exerts his effort in what is obligatory of calling to Islam, then the guidance of creation is not up to him but to Allah, so do not grieve. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people." فلا تأس على القوم الفاسقين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:26]
And He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:3]
And He said:
Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow.
[Al-Kahf 18:6]
There are multiple verses on this matter. So if a person exerts effort to the best of his ability, he should not grieve, nor should he occupy himself with the faults of others to the neglect of his own faults, nor despair of the corrupt people. Many people have zeal (ghirah), and you find them occupied with the sins and faults of others while forgetting themselves, and this is a mistake. The most important thing for you is yourself; correct it, then strive to reform others. And with this, the situation ended, and the Mighty and Majestic said:
And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth,
[Al-Ma'idah 5:27]
This will be, if Allah wills, after Ramadan, because we decided, with your consultation, that the remaining nights be for Sahih Muslim until we complete the fasting.
