The fifth means that she testifies to the fifth: [An-Nur 24:9] in that "in what he accused her of [An-Nur 24:9] in contrast to the fact that the curse of Allah is upon him if he is among the liars. But why was anger mentioned for her instead of the curse? For two reasons: because anger is more severe than the curse. Anger, may Allah protect us from it, necessitates the curse and more, unlike the curse, which is merely distancing. But this is distancing and removal accompanied by anger, so it is more severe. And the reason this anger was decreed for her along with the curse is for two reasons:
The first reason is that the husband’s accusation of her with zina is closer to the truth than her denial, because it is highly unlikely that a husband would accuse his wife of zina unless he is certain of it. However, her denial is expected, as she is repelling the disgrace from herself and her family, just as the woman said, " I will not disgrace my family for the rest of the day." In any case, anger is more severe than the curse because the husband’s accusation of her with zina is closer to the truth than her denial. Therefore, her denial was greater, so it was decreed that if he is truthful, Allah’s anger be upon her. The second aspect is that she says, "May Allah’s anger be upon her if she is among the truthful." If she is among the truthful, then she has denied her obscenity and deviated from the Shari'ah while knowing it. So it is said, "May Allah’s anger be upon her if she is among the truthful." If it becomes true, it means she contradicted the truth while knowing it. And if it becomes true and she denies it, and he is truthful in this, she becomes one who knows the truth and denies it. And whoever knows the truth and rejects it is more severe in retribution with anger. Therefore,[Al-Fatihah 1:7] Those who knew the truth and denied it, like the Jews, and the misguided who did not affirm the truth due to their ignorance of it. So the conclusion, my brothers, is that anger was chosen for her, which is more severe than the curse, for two reasons. The first is that the husband’s testimony against her with zina is closer to the truth than her denial of it. Why? Because it is unlikely that a husband would accuse his wife of zina, and that a woman would deny it to repel the disgrace from herself and her family. The second aspect is that if he is truthful and the woman denies it, she becomes one who rejects the truth while knowing it. And whoever rejects the truth while knowing it, his retribution is anger, like the Jews who rejected the truth while knowing it, so they were retributed with anger. So, may Allah’s anger be upon her if she is among the truthful.
that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was of the truthful.
أن غضب الله عليها إن كان من الصادقينAnd the fifth [oath will be] that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was of the truthful.
